This year’s Silver Tea was one of our highest grossing Tea’s ever, raising over $120,000! Over 350 people attended the 35th Annual Silver Tea at the beautiful Hochberg house in La Jolla. Hosts Jenny and Jason Hochberg graciously presided over the event, allowing guests to tour their beautifully appointed home. This year’s tea was truly a community affair. Youth singers and musicians from Encinitas’s Leading Note Studios shared their talents with Tea attendees and really helped to create a festive atmosphere. Two chapters of the National Charity League, as well as a few local businesses, provided over 2,000 tasty cookies for guests’ enjoyment. Student’s from Mira Mesa High School’s hospitality class joined us to help serve at the event. In keeping with tradition this year, St. Germaine members lovingly prepared all the Tea sandwiches the day before the event.
Our auction had some exciting and well received changes, including the sold-out Be a Star Tree, conceptualized by auction chairs Betsy Witt and April Winograd. The Wine Tree and Restaurant Board were completely sold-out and the raffle and auction were both a resounding success!
We are so thankful for the beautiful weather we had on the day of the Tea and for the many hours so many people spent ensuring the tea’s success. Our community can do amazing things when we come together. SGCC would like to thank everyone for their continued support of our efforts to stamp out child abuse and help to mitigate its effects on our most vulnerable children.
